Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasarana), has advised commuters to use the MyRapid card to travel on LRT trains for their own convenience.
“I have observed that commuters prefer to purchase the single journey tokens rather than our MyRapid card.
I would strongly advise them to use the MyRapid card instead, for their own convenience,” said Prasarana Group director for its Rail Division, Khairani Mohamed, in a statement, yesterday.
Prasarana which operates the two LRT lines of Kelana Jaya and Ampang through its subsidiary, RapidKL, had since Nov 28 implemented a new Auto Fare Collection integrated ticketing system.
The system allows commuters to just use a single ticket despite changing lines via the AFC by using the stored-up value MyRapid card or a single journey token which can be purchased from the ticket vending machines.
Khairani said that to date, more than 40,000 MyRapid cards had been sold.
