The Jelebu Carnival 2011 to promote agriculture will be held from Nov 24 to 27 at the site of the farmers’ market.

State Agriculture, Agro-based Industry and Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Committee chairman Yunus Rahmat said today the carnival is jointly organised by the committee and the agricultural development council and cooperative development council of the Jelebu parliamentary constituency.

“There would be 80 trading stalls and 40 exhibition stalls from government departments and agencies at the carnival. The carnival will be open from 10 am to 10 pm,” he told Bernama.

He said the highlights would include cultural performances, 1Malaysia Health Exercise, 1Malaysia People’s Sports and a religious forum.

“We will also hold cooking and colouring contests, a VIP football match, a karaoke contest and a snake-catching demonstration by the Department of Civil Defence and a briefing on a ‘wireless kampung’,” he said.
