Man worked with bees for 35 years

BUKIT KATIL – Ong has been breeding honey bees, which he got from Australia and along the way, the bees have adapted to the Malaysian temperature.

Ong Kang Peng, 52, owner of the Giant B Honey Production from Bukit Katil, Melaka, told Citizen Journalists Malaysia (CJMY) that he has been working with bees since he was in his 20s.

Ong has been learning about their behaviour and the breeding of bees for over 35 years and he has been stung more than 20 times for the past 20 years.

He also said there are 200 types of bees.

He has been breeding honey bees, which he got from Australia and along the way, the bees have adapted to the Malaysian temperature.

At present he has about 10,000 boxes of bees which cultivate the honey and each box has about 10,000 bees.

The total bees according to him is about 100,000,000 in his farm.

The honey extracted is made into Pure Honey, Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly, Propolis and many other.
