Cross-cultural perfomances: A celebration of difference

IPG KBA is truly international, because it gives due recognition to all languages which are important.

LEMBAH PANTAI – French, German and Japanese language students from the Institute of Teacher Education, International Languages Campus (IPG KBA) and six secondary schools participated in performances for the closing ceremony of International Languages Week 2011.

In her opening speech, the Director of Institute of Teacher Education, International Languages Campus, Yang Mulia Raja Azizah Hanim Binti Raja Abdul Aziz said, “This is the testimony that  IPG KBA is truly international, because we give due recognition to all languages which are important”.

“I was most attracted by all the four Japanese performances; the song Sakura, the dance Kawachi Ondo, the choral speaking and the dance Soran Bushi”, said Dr. Volker Wolf, Director of Goethe Institute Kuala Lumpur.

“This is a very momentous evening for me, because I could attend performances in three different languages in one single programme,” said one student from SMS Kuala Selangor.

Other performances including poetry recital from SMS Tuanku Jaafar, Kuala Pilah, short dramas and songs in French and German.

Booths for each language was also open for exhibition outside the auditorium.
