Two insurance agents, a night market trader and an Immigration department officer pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court in Shah Alam today to robbing 12 foreign workers.

Two insurance agents, a night market trader and an Immigration department officer pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court in Shah Alam today to robbing 12 foreign workers.

Muhammad Ashraf Johari, 23, and Azrul Shah Abdul Moin, 26, trader Mohd Faisul Sulaiman, 30 and Immigration officer Mohd Fitri Mohd Yusof, 25, allegedly committed the offence at the Green Hill Project workers’ quarters in Section U10 at 2am on July 23.

According to the charge, they robbed their alleged victims of cash and mobile phones worth RM4,150.

They can be jailed up to 20 years and are liable to be whipped under Section 395 of the Penal Code, if found guilty.

Judge Mohammed Mokhzani Mokhtar allowed each of them bail of RM9,000 in one surety pending re-mention of the case on Sept 13.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Salwa Asmary Abdul Rahim prosecuted.
