Muar firemen fight plantation fire

While the haze in Muar seem to have reduced, firemen from Muar have been working hard to put out the fire at an oil palm and pineapple plantation, 16 km from Bandar Maharani, Bandar Di-Raja.

Senior fire officer II Johar Tumin from the Muar Fire and Rescue Department told Citizen Journalists Malaysia (CJMY) that the fire at Batu 13 Mukim Ayer Hitam began on 19th June and has yet to be put out completely.

Over 40 acres have been brought under control as of yesterday but although the fire has been put out, there is still smoke billowing from the ground below he said.
