Indonesian beauty queen Delvia Wirajay beat 27 other contestants to win the Miss CosmoWorld 2018 title at the prestigious pageant grand final held at JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 2nd December 2018.
The 26-year-old beauty queen and TV presenter by profession from Dobo, Maluku, Indonesia and now lives in Jakarta looked visibly shocked and struggled to hold back tears as emcee CK Lee announced she had won.
“I was so shocked to hear him call out ‘Indonesia’ and my name as the winner. It was more than a dream come true for me,” she said.
Delvia took home cash and sponsored prizes, including sash, trophy, crown and a vacation trip to Italy, worth a total of RM214,414.
The 170 cm (5’ 7”) tall beauty also won the Miss Beautiful Smile subsidiary title which earned her cash prize of RM1,000, sash and trophy.
Delvia is no stranger to pageants. She was Miss Tourism Queen of the Year Indonesia 2015 and won the Best National Costume subsidiary title at the Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015 pageant held in Kuala Lumpur. She was also 1st runner-up in Putri Pariwisata Indonesia 2015 and a finalist in Miss Celebrity Indonesia 2015.
In second place was 24-year-old real estate practitioner Jeanyfer Ozbot from Philippines and third place went to 25-year- old student Milica Vukis from Serbia.
Malaysia’s representative Michelle Yvonne Woulfe, 23-year-old social media entrepreneur did not win, she made it to the Top 8. However she did well to win two subsidiary titles of Miss Elegant and Miss Photogenic.
Others in the Top 8 were Nissareen Libung (Thailand), LeeSeung Hae (Korea), Vivien Remias (Hungary) and Kiet Kim Yee (Cambodia).
Organised by CL Skin Sdn Bhd, Miss CosmoWorld 2018 is in its second year and is aimed at grooming well-disciplined international beauty queens. Miss CosmoWorld pageant founder Carrie Lee, a former Miss Chinese Cosmo International 2004, is a veteran pageant organiser with more than 13 years of experience in running beauty pageants inMalaysia and South East Asia.
