Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) in collaboration with German Educare has successfully sent twenty-nine students to the top public universities and technical institutes in Germany through the Cambridge A Level German Pathway programme.
The pioneer batch of nine students from MCKL first travelled to Germany in April 2021, to continue their preparatory programme in Germany.
Saranya Anandraj who received an offer to pursue her undergraduate studies in Science, studying Economics at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) of Munich said, “When I first got the email from LMU that I had been accepted, it felt extremely surreal, and I was extremely grateful that I was able to achieve my goal of getting into LMU.”
Anson Lean who is currently studying Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Rhein Westfalen Technische Hochschule (RWTH) said “When I got the email that I was accepted, I was very happy. Both MCKL and German Educare was an excellent steppingstone to equip me with sufficient skills and knowledge.”
Despite the pandemic and the restrictions imposed, the partnership successfully sent another 20 alumni to Germany in October this year to fulfill their preparatory programme before their further studies begin.
There are over 357,000 foreign students seeking a university degree in Germany with the number’s steadily increasing. Access to low or no tuition fee for high-quality education and excellent teaching and research among the German public universities are among the main reasons.
Other factors such as affordable living cost, countless courses, world-class education and experience, excellent learning environment, and high career and industry opportunities has made Germany become a magnet for international students to pursue their tertiary education.
The Cambridge A Level German Pathway programme provides students with a direct pathway to further their studies in Germany. Students who are studying the A Level programme in MCKL will also be attending German language lessons to fulfill the language requirement.
