A charity dinner for flood victims

The charity dinner, which will be held on December 3 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), hopes to raise a total of RM150,000 through the sales of guests per table and donations from the MFA’s members and friends.

In a recent joint press conference, the Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) announced its collaboration with D’Tandoor Food Industries Sdn Bhd (D’Tandoor) to organise the Malam Seribu Harapan (MaSeH) charity dinner, where proceeds from the charity dinner will go to the victims of the recent floods in Perlis.

The charity dinner, which will be held on December 3 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), hopes to raise a total of RM150,000 through the sales of guests per table and donations from the MFA’s members and friends.

At the press conference, MFA President, Abdul Malik Abdullah said that the program is a channel for MFA and D’Tandoor Restaurant to give back to the society especially for those in need like the flood victims in Perlis.

“We realised all the hardships faced everyday by the flood victims, and we would like to do our part to help lighten their sufferings,” he said.

All the proceeds will be handed to the Yayasan Sultanah Bahiyah before passing them to the flood victims. Also gracing the charity dinner is local veteran singer, Dato’ Khadijah Ibrahim.

“I don’t mind singing for an hour, as long as people do come forward and help those victims in need by providing us their financial support,” said Khadijah when met later at the press conference.

“But, we’re thankful enough that PICC decided to waive off the rental fees for the charity dinner,” she said.
