A man has died after he was stabbed in the neck during a quarrel over portioning of the meat of a wild boar caught in the jungle in Hutan Melintang, 120km south of here, police said.
K. Perumal, 27, a plantation worker of Sungai Samak, Hutan Melintang, died as he was being rushed to the Teluk Intan Hospital following the incident at 9pm yesterday, said Hilir Perak police chief ACP Goh Kok Liang today.
Goh said the quarrel started when Perumal and two men, both brothers, were discussing the portioning of the meat of the boar which the trio had caught.
One of the brothers then pulled out a penknife and stabbed Perumal in the neck, he said, adding that the brothers then fled on a motorcycle.
Perumal was helped by his wife and other plantation workers to a nearby clinic and then rushed to the Teluk Intan Hospital but died on the way, he added.
Goh said police recovered a blood-stained penknife and arrested two men, aged 21 and 24, who had been remanded for seven days from today to help in the investigation into the murder.
