Three Merdeka contests you can participate

Various programs and competitions lined up to commemorate the 65th Merdeka day celebration this year.

Besides the annual parade, which will occur after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there are a variety of contests organised to get Malaysians together.

Malaysians look forward to participating in the following contests.

Fotografi Klik@Merdeka 2022

The Merdeka photography contest is open from August 1, 2022, to September 16, 2022, for all Malaysian above 15 years old.

Participants can submit as many high-resolution images as they want. (minimum 300 dpi, 3MB file size). 

They are required to upload the images to their personal Instagram account and tag @Japenmalaysia.

Listed below are the prizes for the Fotografi Klik@Merdeka 2022 contest.

1. First prize: A cash prize of RM1500.00, a trophy and a certificate
2. Second prize: A cash prize of RM1000.00, a trophy and a certificate
3. Third prize: A cash prize of RM750.00, a trophy and a certificate
4. Ten consolation prize winners will receive RM350.00 each.

Bintang Patriotik Smule 2022

 Merdeka Smule contest titled “Bintang Patriotik Smule 2022” is open to all Malaysians above 18 years old.

Participants must follow the “Bintang Patriotik” account on Smule. They must sing one patriotic song and another song of their choice.

The prizes for the Merdeka Smule contest are as follows.

1. First prize: A cash prize of RM700.00, a trophy and a certificate
2. Second prize: A cash prize of RM500.00, a trophy and a certificate
3. Third prize: A cash prize of RM350.00, a trophy and a certificate
4. The best performer will receive RM150.

Merdeka TikTok Challenge

The Tik Tok contest titled the “Ilham Merdeka TikTok Challenge” is open to all Malaysian aged 7 to 50. Participants must have their own TikTok account and can send more than 1 video.

The video must exhibit patriotic elements and the love for the nation. Most importantly, the video must be original and not infringe any copyright.

The contest starts on August 24, 2022, and ends on September 16, 2022.
