Three friends pleaded not guilty at the Magistrates Court here today to shoplifting gowns at a well-known boutique on Sunday.
The three women — Sim Look Seng, 61, Lee Siew Wan, 48, and Sim Geok Ee, 57, are alleged to have stolen three black gowns altogether worth RM1,000 at Butik Warehouse, Lot 2.64 Pavillion, Bukit Bintang here at 4.15pm on Sunday.
If convicted, they are liable to be jailed up to 10 years and can also be fined.
Magistrate Mohd Azali Ibrahim set bail at RM2,000 in one surety for each of the accused and Nov 26 for re-mention.
Deputy public prosecutor Chew Zi Xian appeared for the prosecution while all three accused were represented by counsel S. Narasimhan.
The trio’s children posted bail.
