Honouring Malaysia’s business sustainability performance

UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei held the Sustainability Performance Awards on 9th December 2022.

UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB) held its Sustainability Performance Awards Ceremony to recognise efforts made by the members of UNGCMYB in making sustainability an integral part of their business strategies.

Over 280 attendees gathered to witness the announcement of the winners and celebrate businesses for championing sustainability efforts, at the event held at EQ Kuala Lumpur. The awards ceremony highlights 8 out of 10 award categories covering different benchmarks which recognise the continuous efforts of all its members for their commendable efforts to create a sustainable future and in inspiring other businesses.

The awards were derived from the UNGC 10 SDG Ambition Benchmarks – the world’s first SDG centric sustainable business taxonomy that highlights ten actions businesses can take to be more sustainable. The award selection criteria gave special focus to data transparency, assurance approach and measures to raise internal sustainability ambitions.

The winners for each Awards Category were selected based on their performance in adopting and integrating multiple ambitions and initiatives. The submissions were scored and judged using the scopes and multiple pathways of the 10 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Ambition Benchmarks and each of the awards were further categorised into corporates and SMEs categories.
