RJ Nagarajan conquers Everest, completes “World 7 Summits”

Malaysian mountaineer RJ Nagarajan, 59, has achieved a remarkable feat, proving that with determination and resilience, Malaysians can overcome extraordinary challenges on the global stage.

Today, he reached the summit of Mount Everest, becoming the second Malaysian to conquer all seven highest peaks on the seven continents, an achievement known as the “World 7 Summits.”

His extraordinary journey culminated with his triumphant ascent of Mount Everest, solidifying his place among elite climbers.

Late last week, another renowned climber, T Ravichandran successfully completed this third ascent to the Himalayan peaks.

Amidst the breathtaking peaks of Mount Everest, Nagarajan stood triumphantly at an elevation of 8,850 meters above sea level, marking his successful conquest of the world’s highest summit.

The momentous occasion took place at 10:30 am local time, or 12:45 pm in Malaysia. Mohd Khafiz Bachok, the founder of ZEROTO8000, expressed his congratulations and announced Nagarajan’s extraordinary feat.

Leading Himalayan trekking specialist, Nima Adventure Trek and Expedition posted on their Facebook that Nagarajan along with his sherpa, Pasang Sherpa summited successfully and they are descending to Camp IV.

Nagarajan’s climb to the summit of Mount Everest not only solidifies his position as the second Malaysian to achieve the World 7 Summits, but it also places him as the fourth climber in Malaysia to accomplish this incredible endeavour, as recognized by Reinhold Messner’s version.

The World 7 Summits challenge is considered one of the most prestigious achievements in the world of mountaineering.

A Journey of Seven Peaks

Nagarajan’s journey to conquer the World 7 Summits spanned seven years, starting in 2016. Prior to scaling Mount Everest, he successfully conquered Mount Aconcagua in Argentina, the highest peak in South America, as well as Mount Denali in the United States, the highest peak in North America.

His determination and climbing prowess also led him to the summits of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mount Elbrus in Europe, Mount Vinson in Antarctica, Mount Kosciuszko in Australia, and the challenging Puncak Jaya in Indonesia.

His previous ascents of Mount Mont Blanc in France and Puncak Jaya in Irian Jaya further exemplify his determination and skills in conquering different versions of the Seven Summits challenge.
