The summit, taking place from 18 to 20 August at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), aims to raise awareness about the urgent need to protect and conserve Sabah’s marine environment.
As part of its corporate social responsibility program, ADEX Sabah has organized the “Ghost Net Hunters – 23 Hours” initiative to address the grave issue of ghost nets and their impact on marine life.
ADEX Sabah: Uniting forces to tackle ghost nets
Ghost nets, abandoned or lost fishing nets, pose a significant threat to marine ecosystems, entangling and endangering numerous species.
The “Ghost Net Hunters – 23 Hours” initiative at ADEX Sabah will bring together a dedicated team of experienced divers who will strive to remove as many ghost nets as possible within a continuous 23-hour period.
This ambitious attempt not only aims to set a new world record but also highlights the commitment of the diving community and environmental enthusiasts to preserving the marine environment.
