Pos Malaysia and Yinson GreenTech to launch chargEV

Pos Malaysia has teamed up with Yinson GreenTech to introduce EV charging stations at selected post offices, contributing to sustainable mobility solutions.

Pos Malaysia Berhad, Malaysia’s leading postal and parcel service provider, has announced its strategic partnership with Yinson GreenTech (YGT) for the launch of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations powered by chargEV.

This collaboration demonstrates Pos Malaysia‘s commitment to advancing sustainable mobility solutions and expanding access to sustainable energy sources.

Pos Malaysia revealed that the EV charging stations are now operational from 7 am to 11 pm daily at six selected post offices across the country, including Shah Alam, Ipoh, Melaka, Seremban, Alor Setar, and Johor Bahru.

These charging stations will be installed in phases, with plans to expand to additional post offices to ensure greater accessibility for EV owners, considering the growing number of electric vehicles in Malaysia.

Each charging outlet is equipped with a 40 kW DC charger featuring two CCS2-type nozzles for fast charging. Depending on the EV model, charging up to 80 per cent capacity will take approximately 60 to 90 minutes.

In line with its commitment to environmental stewardship and recent net-zero goals, Pos Malaysia has deployed over 40 e-Bikes for mail and parcel deliveries in the Klang Valley, operating with zero carbon emissions.

By the end of 2023, the company plans to have a combination of more than 200 e-Bikes and 140 e-Vans across Peninsular Malaysia, further promoting sustainable last-mile logistics.

Charles Brewer, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Pos Malaysia Berhad, expressed the company’s dedication to integrating sustainability into all aspects of its operations. He emphasized the significance of the partnership with Yinson in driving positive change in sustainable transportation, reducing range anxiety for EV users, and contributing to a greener future for Malaysia.
