The Malaysian International Travel Mart (MITM) 2023 commenced with a vibrant start as enthusiastic travelers flocked to the Setia SPICE Arena, eager to seize exciting travel deals.
Organised by the Malaysian Chinese Tourist Association (MCTA), this two-day travel fair aims to entice approximately 15,000 visitors throughout the weekend.
With 37 exhibitors occupying 220 exhibition booths, the fair promises a diverse range of offerings, while anticipating sales worth RM45 million. Despite the morning rain, early birds eagerly embraced the opportunity to explore the fair and make the most of the travel bargains on offer.

Penang Tourism envisions a seamless travel experience
During the opening ceremony of the MITM travel fair, Penang’s caretaker Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman, Yeoh Soon Hin, commended the Malaysian Chinese Tourist Association (MCTA) for organizing the event.
Yeoh emphasised the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to attract tourists from around the world to Malaysia. He also urged airport management, as well as the Immigration and Customs authorities, to play their part in promoting tourism and ensuring a seamless and unforgettable experience for visitors.
Yeoh regarded the MITM travel fair as an opportunity to cross-sell and re-market domestic tourism products at both local and international stages. He highlighted Penang’s efforts to diversify its tourism products, leveraging local resources and venturing into medical tourism, education tourism, creative industries, and the MICE sector.
By preserving the state’s cultural and natural assets while embracing new avenues, Penang aims to position itself as a multifarious travel destination, captivating the interests of a broad range of travelers.
