Caretaker Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow highlights the importance of garnering the support and mandate of the people in the upcoming state election to continue driving progress in Penang.

Speaking at the launch of a roofed multipurpose court in Desa Mawar Air Itam, Chow emphasized the need to further enhance the development of Penang and work towards realizing the Penang2030 vision.

He stressed the significance of balanced development across both the island and mainland, with particular attention to rural areas. Social development, according to Chow, is a crucial aspect that complements economic and infrastructure development.

Chow affirms the caretaker state government’s commitment to bring about positive change and betterment for the people of Penang. Expressing the need for continued support in the upcoming state election, he emphasizes the importance of ongoing efforts to realize the Penang2030 vision.

This vision aims to transform Penang into a developed state not only in terms of its economy and infrastructure but also socially. Chow acknowledges that more work needs to be done to achieve these goals and improve the lives of the people of Penang.

During a press conference held after the event, Chow stated that the formation of the unity government has allowed for the announcement and initiation of several infrastructure projects. While these projects are in progress, the focus should also be on social development.

Chow envisions social development to be aligned with the Penang2030 vision and to bring about the transformation of the community while ensuring they benefit from the state’s economic growth. He emphasizes that social development should be inclusive, catering to all layers of society, including infants, youngsters, the disabled, women, and senior citizens.

Chow acknowledges the support of various dignitaries, including Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh and former Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng. He also mentions the frequent visits of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to Penang, which aim to enhance preparations for the upcoming state election and ensure a closer understanding of the community’s needs.
