Sarawak is ready to accelerate the growth of its hydrogen economy with the highly anticipated Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference & Exhibition (APGH) 2024.
The event, scheduled from June 11th to 13th, 2024 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, aims to position Sarawak as a leader in the green hydrogen revolution and attract global attention to the state’s efforts in sustainable energy.
Driving the Green Hydrogen revolution
The demand for green hydrogen in the Asia Pacific region is projected to grow by 50% annually over the next decade. Recognizing this potential, Sarawak aims to ramp up the development and construction of green hydrogen plants.
With hydrogen production volumes already increasing by over 40% in the past year, Sarawak’s hydrogen projects are advancing to the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) stage, with the Final Investment Decision (FID) planned for next year.
APGH 2024 will serve as a platform to discuss the latest advancements in green hydrogen technology, policy, regulation, and infrastructure development.
Positioning Sarawak at the forefront
Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin, Chairman of Borneo Business Connect, highlights the goal of positioning Sarawak at the forefront of the Green Hydrogen Economy through APGH 2024.
The event aims to attract investors, collaborators, industry partners, researchers, and delegates to develop and grow the green hydrogen, fuel cell, and renewable energy-related business ecosystem in Sarawak.
The conference and exhibition will provide a conducive platform for government-private sector partnerships and facilitate mutual benefits for all stakeholders. OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad has joined as the Exclusive Financial Institution Partner, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and decarbonisation.
APGH 2024 is set to be a significant event for Sarawak, attracting exhibitors, conference delegates, and trade visitors from around the world. The conference will foster knowledge exchange, business networking, and collaboration opportunities in the growing green hydrogen industry.
With the support of the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak and Business Events Sarawak, the event is poised to propel Sarawak to the forefront of the hydrogen economy. Sarawak’s commitment to sustainability and green initiatives aligns with its goal of achieving a low-carbon and inclusive green economy by 2030.
