As Malaysia prepares to commemorate the establishment of the Federation of Malaysia on September 16th, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) has taken a patriotic initiative by launching a specially themed LRT train on the Kelana Jaya Line. The train, dubbed ‘Cerita Malaysiaku’ (My Malaysia Story), is adorned with vibrant visuals that celebrate Malaysia’s rich tapestry of diverse races and cultures.
The Kelana Jaya Line, renowned for having the highest number of passengers and traversing through densely populated areas, including Kuala Lumpur’s golden triangle, was selected as the ideal platform for this remarkable initiative.
Prasarana and Rapid Rail, the operators of rail services in the Klang Valley, have joined hands in this effort to support the government’s mission of promoting Malaysia Day celebrations.
The grand launch ceremony of the ‘Cerita Malaysiaku’ train was officiated by the Minister of Communications and Digital, Yang Berhormat Tuan Fahmi Fadzil. Minister Fahmi inaugurated the train by taking a symbolic ride from Universiti Station to KLCC Station, interacting with passengers, distributing Jalur Gemilang (the Malaysian flag), and offering commemorative souvenirs.
Commemorating Malaysia Day
The ‘Cerita Malaysiaku’ initiative aims to foster appreciation for Malaysia’s rich heritage and ensure that its remarkable stories are never forgotten. Each coach of the train features a unique theme, including Rukun Negara (National Principles), Negaraku (My Country), culture, festivals, a variety of food, places of interest, and the history of public transport in Malaysia.
Passengers traveling on the ‘Cerita Malaysiaku’ train will be treated to a wealth of captivating information, enriching their journey and deepening their connection to Malaysia’s vibrant culture and history.
This initiative not only highlights Prasarana’s commitment to preserving Malaysia’s rich cultural identity but also stands as a compelling testament to the unity and diversity that form the core of the nation’s character. Through the vibrant presence of the ‘Cerita Malaysiaku’ train on the Kelana Jaya Line, it conveys a resounding message of inclusivity, uniting individuals from diverse backgrounds to celebrate their common heritage. It underscores the notion that Malaysia’s strength derives from the harmonious coexistence of various cultures, religions, and traditions, solidifying its status as an exceptional and resilient nation.
