Batik Air launches daily flights to Dubai from Kuala Lumpur

In a move to cater to the increasing demand for travel between Malaysia and the Middle East, Batik Air is set to initiate daily direct flights to Dubai from Kuala Lumpur starting on 11 November 2023. This marks the airline’s commitment to extending its network in the region, following the recent introduction of flights to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in August.

The daily Kuala Lumpur to Dubai route, coded KUL – DBX, will operate until 1 February 2024, after which it will be reduced to four times a week.

In celebration of the new route, Batik Air is offering promotional roundtrip fares as low as MYR2,249 for economy class and MYR4,999 for business class. The flights will be serviced by Boeing 737-8 aircraft, equipped with 12 business class and 150 economy class seats.

The schedule for the daily flights is as follows:

  • OD713 will depart from Kuala Lumpur at 2305, arriving in Dubai at 0225 the next day,
  • OD714 will depart Dubai at 0405 and reach Kuala Lumpur at 1535.

Batik Air’s bold expansion doesn’t stop there. The airline is also set to introduce another exciting route from its base in Kuala Lumpur. Starting on 9 February 2024, Batik Air will operate three weekly flights to Istanbul Türkiye, using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

As per the current timetables, flight OD723 will take off from Kuala Lumpur at 1650 and land in Istanbul at 2245 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. For the return journey, OD724 will depart from Istanbul at 0005 and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 1555 on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

This new route is expected to further strengthen Batik Air’s presence in the international market, offering enhanced connectivity for passengers traveling between Malaysia and Turkey.

With the launch of daily flights to Dubai and the forthcoming connection to Istanbul, Batik Air is making significant strides in expanding its international route network. The airline’s move to meet the growing demand for travel between Malaysia and the Middle East and Turkey reflects its commitment to offering more options for travellers.
