Allianz Malaysia Berhad, the esteemed insurance provider, showcased its commitment to environmental responsibility as its employees nationwide enthusiastically participated in the annual World Cleanup Day.
During this initiative, they collectively gathered 1,000.36 kilograms of waste while also planting seedlings in September. This effort was undertaken as part of Allianz Charity Day, an initiative aiming to foster volunteerism among Allianz Malaysia employees.
The initiative commenced in September in conjunction with World Cleanup Day and will conclude in November.
Allianz Malaysia’s nationwide cleanup
Allianz employees actively engaged in various cleanup activities across the nation. These activities spanned a wide range of locations, including beach cleanup at Pantai Tanjung Tuan in Port Dickson, and park cleanup at Taman Rekreasi Sultan Abdul Aziz (Padang Polo) in Ipoh.
In total, 460 employees representing 24 departments and branches dedicated a cumulative 1,768 hours to these volunteering events
The Kuala Terengganu Branch stood out by collecting and disposing of the most waste, amounting to an impressive 150 kilograms. These efforts reflect Allianz Malaysia’s commitment to proactive environmental stewardship and their dedication to being a part of the solution to the global waste crisis.
A commitment to the future generation
Ng Siew Gek, the Head of Allianz4Good, expressed Allianz Malaysia’s delight in participating in World Cleanup Day, highlighting the global waste crisis.
She noted that at Allianz Malaysia, the impact on future generations is always at the forefront of their minds. The company takes pride in its employees who are not only conscious of the ongoing waste crisis but also take proactive steps to address it through their own cleanup activities.
Last year, Allianz Malaysia organised a digital cleanup as part of World Cleanup Day, encouraging employees to be mindful of digital waste. This included disposing of nonessential emails, documents, and pictures, promoting a holistic approach to environmental responsibility.
