The Miri Country Music Fest (MCMF) is set to resonate with the twang of guitars and the spirit of community as it commemorates its 10th edition on December 1st and 2nd, 2023, at Coco Cabana, Miri.
In a special announcement, Datu Sherrina Husaini, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry & Performing Arts Sarawak, declared that the festival, known for its toe-tapping melodies, will offer free entry to all attendees.
As the first country and western music festival in Malaysia, MCMF has evolved into a musical landmark in Miri, showcasing international and local talents.
A decade of country music celebration
The Miri Country Music Fest (MCMF) has become synonymous with a unique celebration of country and western music, resonating through the heart of Miri. As it marks its remarkable 10th anniversary, the festival promises an extraordinary musical experience.
With a diverse lineup featuring nine bands from the USA, Vietnam, Malaysia, and local Sarawakian talents, MCMF continues to provide a platform for both seasoned and emerging artists.
Datu Sherrina Husaini, expressing excitement about the participation of local bands, highlighted the festival’s role in giving them exposure to a broader audience.

Beyond music – A run for all
Breaking new ground, MCMF 2023 introduces a free 5km Fun Run, open to festivalgoers and the general public.
Taking place along the scenic Marina Park on December 2nd at 5:00 pm, this inaugural Fun Run adds a dynamic dimension to the festival.
Datu Sherrina Husaini expressed her vision for MCMF to transcend being merely a music celebration, aiming to establish it as a significant calendar event that boosts tourism and elevates Miri’s status as a resort city and international event host.
The festival embraces not only the rich tapestry of country and western music but also a broader commitment to fostering community engagement and cultural celebration.
As Miri Country Music Fest opens its doors with free entry and invites the public to join a Fun Run, the 10th edition promises a fusion of music, community spirit, and physical activity.
MCMF, organised by Place Borneo Sdn Bhd, receives support from the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry & Performing Arts Sarawak, and collaboration with official partners Coco Cabana, Mega Hotel, and Transworld Travel Services Sdn Bhd.
