AirAsia, renowned as the people’s preferred airline, is pleased to declare its steadfast support for the FLYsiswa programme in the upcoming year.
Launched by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia, FLYsiswa strives to facilitate cost-effective travel for students returning to their hometowns.
The AirAsia e-voucher, an integral part of this initiative, spans 45 routes across 10 destinations, connecting crucial locations in Peninsula Malaysia and East Malaysia.
Empowering with FLYsiswa e-voucher
AirAsia’s FLYsiswa e-voucher is tailored for students, covering an extensive network of 45 routes across 10 destinations.
These routes link key locations in Peninsula Malaysia such as Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Kota Bharu, as well as East Malaysia destinations including Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Kuching, Bintulu, Miri, Sibu, and Labuan.
The e-voucher also encompasses flights connecting Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.
The airline’s commitment to affordability extends beyond fares, offering students access to the complete AirAsia ecosystem, including airasia rewards points and inflight perks.
This initiative aligns with AirAsia’s dedication to accessibility, offering not only affordable fares but also unlocking additional benefits within the AirAsia ecosystem, ensuring a comprehensive and rewarding travel experience for students.
AirAsia’s pivotal role in FLYsiswa success
Riad Asmat, CEO of AirAsia Malaysia, expressed pride in supporting the FLYsiswa initiative, designed to benefit an estimated 50,069 eligible students enrolled in public universities nationwide.
In the current year, AirAsia witnessed a substantial response, with over 23,000 verified student submissions. Impressively, 66% of the 35,994 applicants chose AirAsia as their preferred airline.
As AirAsia gears up to reactivate more aircraft in the coming months, aligning with the Ministry’s announcement, the airline anticipates enhancing flight frequencies and offering even more competitive fares.
This strategic move aims to maximise the advantages for students, ensuring convenient and affordable travel to their hometowns in the upcoming year.
The eligibility criteria for the FLYsiswa program are determined by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia, encompassing students pursuing tertiary education at public universities in Malaysia.
This inclusive initiative extends to students from Sabah, Sarawak, or the Federal Territory of Labuan studying in Peninsular Malaysia, vice versa, and students studying in each other’s regions.
