Pos Malaysia unveils “Palestin Merdeka” stamp

Pos Malaysia Berhad, the national post and parcel service provider, took a significant step in expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine by launching the “Palestin Merdeka” stamp at a special event today. The unveiling ceremony, graced by the Minister of Communications, YB Fahmi Fadzil, marked a powerful demonstration of Malaysia’s commitment to supporting peace and unity on the global stage.

The “Palestin Merdeka” stamp features a compelling image—an outstretched hand waving the Palestinian flag against a backdrop of silhouetted individuals forming a united crowd. This poignant representation encapsulates the collective aspirations of Malaysians for lasting peace in the region. The first-day cover, adorned with a white dove gracefully holding an olive branch, serves as a universal symbol of peace. Meanwhile, the folder cover depicts a pair of hands tenderly clasping each other, symbolizing Malaysia’s deep commitment to fostering global harmony.

The Keffiyeh motif used in the stamp’s background adds a layer of symbolism, representing persistence and solidarity, key elements in the quest for peace. The official launch event was attended by prominent figures, including YB Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications, YBhg. Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Chairman of Pos Malaysia, and Charles Brewer, Group Chief Executive Officer of Pos Malaysia.

In his address, Minister YB Fahmi Fadzil commended Pos Malaysia for its impactful demonstration of solidarity with Palestine.
