Batik Air is set to enhance its domestic flight offerings with the introduction of three new routes, providing increased connectivity for travellers within Malaysia.

Commencing from February 8, 2024, passengers can enjoy daily flights from KLIA Terminal 1 to Tawau in Sabah, Sibu in Sarawak, and Kota Bharu in Kelantan.

The new routes aim to meet the growing travel demands for both business and leisure travellers connecting Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak.

With a commitment to providing seamless connections, the daily service to Tawau (TWU) will depart KLIA at 8:30 am and return from TWU at 11:50 am.

These routes will be operated by Batik Air’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering 12 Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats.

In addition to the daily service to Tawau, KLIA will offer double daily services to Kota Bharu (KBR). Departures are scheduled at 8:30 am and 6:00 pm, with return flights from KBR at 9:25 am and 7:55 pm.

This increased frequency not only facilitates smoother connections for passengers on Batik Air’s domestic routes but also enables travellers originating from Kota Bharu to connect conveniently to Jeddah flights via the KLIA hub for Umrah purposes.

Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, Batik Air’s Group Strategy Director, expressed his excitement, saying, “These new routes showcase our dedication to meeting our passengers’ evolving needs. It’s about making travel smoother and more enjoyable, offering seamless experiences, and opening doors to international destinations.”
