Tourism Malaysia has been honoured with the gold award in the Transportation, Travel & Tourism category at the prestigious 2023 Putra Aria Brand Awards.

The awards ceremony took place at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, recognising brands that exhibit a vital connection with Malaysians.

Introduced in 2022 by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As), the Aria Brand Awards, often dubbed the People’s Choice Awards, aim to acknowledge brands with a significant connection to Malaysians.

The winners are determined through a survey involving 11,000 respondents over an 8-week period from September to October 2023.

The awards received endorsement from MATRADE as the Brand Champion Partner and garnered support from the Malaysian Advertisers Association (MAA), the Media Specialists Association (MSA), and the Malaysian Digital Association (MDA).

In a competitive field of 24 categories spanning tourism, automobile, banking, communications, e-commerce, entertainment, investment & insurance, and media, Tourism Malaysia emerged victorious in the Transportation, Travel & Tourism category.

Survey participants evaluated brands based on brand familiarity, brand experience, overall impression, intention to purchase, and advocacy for peers and family.

A total of 40 brands were awarded gold, 50 secured silver, and 60 obtained bronze in various categories.

Dato’ Dr. Ammar Abd Ghapar, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, expressed his gratitude, stating, “The year 2024 begins on a positive note with the reception of this award, marking the second consecutive recognition.

This achievement serves as a significant enhancement to our brand image and undoubtedly reflects the promotional endeavours undertaken by Tourism Malaysia.”

This recent gold award adds to Tourism Malaysia’s earlier accomplishment at the 2022 Putra Aria Brand Awards, where they secured the Bronze award in the same category.

These accolades underscore Tourism Malaysia’s steadfast commitment to excellence in promoting Malaysia’s diverse attractions and vibrant culture. The awards serve as a testament to the brand’s resonance with the Malaysian audience and its continuous efforts in elevating the nation’s tourism profile.
