Following a series of successful launches last year, PHC is extending the complimentary shuttle service for the Chinese New Year celebration.

The primary objective is to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce carbon emissions in the Air Itam area.

The free shuttle service will operate from 10 to 13 February 2024, providing eight daily trips in both directions from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm at intervals of 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The Penang Hill Free Shuttle Service can be easily identified by its clear marking as the “Penang Hill Free Shuttle Service” at the two pick-up or drop-off points—Station 9 at KOMTAR and the bus stop at Penang Hill Lower Station.

In case of the bus reaching full capacity, visitors are encouraged to use Rapid bus number 204 at regular rates or GrabCar with the promo code ‘GRAB2PGHILL’, providing a maximum of two redemptions per user.

With fewer than 500 spaces available at the multi-storey car park and its surroundings, the initiative aims to reduce traffic congestion and roadside overparking.

Beyond easing traffic congestion, the Penang Hill Free Shuttle Service enhances the overall visitor experience by reducing travel time and offering a stress-free means for both locals and visitors to enjoy Penang Hill.

PHC encourages everyone to utilise this free shuttle service during the Chinese New Year holiday, aligning with their commitment to creating a more sustainable and environmentally friendly Penang.
