With “The Opportunity is Here” as its guiding theme, the eUsahawan and Gig Fest aimed to cultivate a thriving digital ecosystem in Malaysia.

The event served as a launchpad for individuals, graduates, and businesses of all sizes – micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) alike – to equip themselves with the necessary skills and knowledge to flourish in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

Investors, entrepreneurs, startups, gig economy workers, and digital professionals converged, exchanging valuable insights and exploring innovative ways to leverage technology.

Empowering entrepreneurs and freelancers

Malaysia's digital economy took center stage at the inaugural eUsahawan and Gig Fest, organized by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

MDEC’s flagship eUsahawan program has empowered over 563,000 entrepreneurs since 2015, generating over RM1.24 billion in cumulative sales.

Its impact extends beyond training, with modules now integrated into educational curriculums, contributing to national digitalization initiatives.

MDEC aims to train 30,000 individuals and generate RM35 million in sales this year, further expanding its reach through 100 new eUsahawan hubs.

The GLOW program, launched in 2016, has assisted over 105,000 participants, generating RM282.76 million in collective revenue.
