The Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources has appointed Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) as its strategic think tank, known as KESUMA.

Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong emphasised the importance of a robust intelligence capacity for informed policy development.

“We need to understand the global landscape to craft relevant, future-proof solutions,” he stated.

He envisioned TalentCorp, with its extensive programs for local and global talent, to be ideally suited for this role.

KESUMA will work alongside Ministry departments and agencies to address evolving workforce challenges.

Industry collaboration and the future of skills

The Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources has appointed Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) as its strategic think tank, known as KESUMA.

The Minister announced the formation of the Future Skills Talent Council (FSTC) for the Electronic & Electric (E&E) sector at the same event.

This industry-driven initiative, comprising top industry leaders, will identify skill and training needs in their sector.

Lau Kean Cheong, CEO of Inari Amertron Berhad, was elected as the chairperson of the council.

The FSTC exemplifies TalentCorp’s collaborative approach, bringing together industry leaders, state training boards, and government agencies to build a future-ready workforce.

Sim also announced the first project undertaken by TalentCorp in its new role.
