Tourism Malaysia is once again participating in the world’s leading travel trade show, ITB Berlin, showcasing Malaysia’s diverse offerings to the German and European markets.

This year marks the country’s 51st participation, demonstrating its enduring commitment to these regions.

A robust presence at ITB Berlin

Led by Dr. Yasmeen Yasim, Deputy Secretary General (Tourism), the Malaysian delegation comprises 61 participants representing various tourism stakeholders.

The delegates, including state tourism boards, tour operators, hotels, and travel services.

The spacious Malaysia Pavilion serves as a platform for showcasing Malaysia’s best travel products, destinations, and services.

It even features live demonstrations of wau-making, a cherished element of Malaysian cultural heritage.

Similar to previous years, ITB Berlin provides a valuable platform for Malaysian tourism players to network with their European counterparts.

Tourism Malaysia capitalized on the event to introduce four new niche travel packages:

  • Pulau Pinang & Kedah Archaeotourism & Geotourism Packages: Explore the rich history and geological wonders of Penang and Kedah.
  • Perlis Eco Tourism Packages: Immerse yourself in the pristine natural beauty of Perlis.
  • Dive into the Unimaginable Packages: Discover the underwater marvels of Malaysia.
  • Sarawak Delta Geopark & Gawai Packages: Experience the unique culture and landscapes of Sarawak’s geopark during the Gawai festival.

Following a successful year in 2023, surpassing tourism targets with 20.1 million arrivals and RM71.3 billion in receipts, Malaysia sets ambitious goals for 2024.

The country aims to attract 27.3 million tourists and generate RM102.7 billion in tourism revenue.

With its diverse offerings and dedication to sustainability, Malaysia is well-positioned to achieve these targets and solidify its position as a premier travel destination.
