MYDIN boosts e-commerce with Zebra Tech’s solution

Zebra Technologies Corporation announced today that Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (MYDIN) has successfully implemented Zebra’s warehouse mobility solution (WMS) at its Seremban distribution centre.

This move aims to support , Malaysia’s largest halal hypermarket chain, fast-growing e-commerce business.

Mydin catering to e-commerce landscape

Malaysia’s e-commerce market is experiencing explosive growth, with a projected revenue of USD10.19 billion in 2023.

MYDIN, recognised for its 68 hypermarkets nationwide, is leveraging technology to cater to this growing online customer base.

“Previously, we could only handle around 1,500 daily e-commerce orders,” said Malik Bin Murad Ali, MYDIN’s Director of IT, HR, Digital and Loss Prevention & Security.

“With Zebra’s WMS, we now process over 10,000 daily orders. We prioritise operational efficiency for a better customer experience, and equipping our frontline staff with advanced technology helps us achieve that.”

Optimising efficiency with user-friendly technology

MYDIN selected Zebra’s TC21 mobile computers. These lightweight, ergonomic devices offer essential computing capabilities to enhance task accuracy and frontline worker efficiency.

The devices boast enterprise-grade durability, long-lasting, removable batteries for 24/7 operations, and the power to run essential applications.

Additionally, the user-friendly Android operating system minimises onboarding time. MYDIN’s future growth is also considered, as the TC21 is scalable to meet evolving needs.

MYDIN collaborated with Zebra PartnerConnect ISV AC2 Group for successful implementation and deployment of AC2’s WAVE Warehouse Management System, a cloud-native WMS.

AC2 Group, in response to MYDIN’s challenges, worked hand-in-hand with Zebra to develop a comprehensive solution.
