Marriott International announced on Monday the signing of a hotel management agreement with Westfield Global to bring the renowned Westin brand to Penang Island.

Slated to open in 2026, The Westin Hotel, Penang, promises to become a premier destination for leisure and business travellers alike.

Westin: Prime location on Penang’s Gurney Drive

Located on the picturesque Gurney Drive, a sea-facing promenade, The Westin Hotel, Penang, will offer guests breathtaking views of the surrounding greenery and the Andaman Sea.

The hotel’s prime position overlooks the newly opened Gurney Bay Park, a waterfront public space featuring a skate park, retail areas, and recreational facilities.

This location places guests within walking distance of the vibrant Gurney Drive Hawker Centre, renowned for its local street food scene, as well as popular shopping malls like Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon.

Gurney Drive has also transformed into a vibrant public park with the development of Gurney Wharf project, which kicked off in 2016.
