Malaysian breakfast is a cornerstone of the country’s rich culinary scene.

Visitors can embark on a delicious journey at the dedicated breakfast corner, indulging in iconic dishes like fragrant nasi lemak (coconut rice), irresistible roti canai (flatbread), and the frothy teh tarik (pulled milk tea).

“We are thrilled to showcase Malaysian breakfast culture and give visitors a taste of authentic Malaysia,” stated Ms Mohana Murni Shanmugam, Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia Singapore.

She emphasised the cultural distinctiveness of Malaysian breakfast, even when compared to Singapore’s offerings.

Mohana further highlighted the ongoing efforts to gain UNESCO recognition for Malaysian breakfast culture as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The Malaysia Travel Escapade 2024 offers a well-rounded experience. In addition to the breakfast corner and information booth, visitors can explore local products from Sarawak and experience traditional spa services provided by the Association of Malaysian Spas (AMSPA).

This showcase by Tourism Malaysia aligns with Malaysia’s ambitious tourism goals. The nation aims to welcome 27.3 million international tourists in 2024, generating significant revenue.

Singapore, a major source market, contributed significantly to the 8.3 million tourist arrivals in 2023. Looking ahead, Visit Malaysia Year 2026 has even more ambitious targets: 35.6 million foreign tourists and tourism receipts exceeding RM147.1 billion.

By showcasing its unique cultural offerings, including breakfast traditions, Tourism Malaysia is well-positioned to attract visitors and contribute to the nation’s tourism growth strategy.
