Malaysian producer Rachel Tan’s “Sight” shines in U.S. cinemas

Rachel Tan, a Malaysian movie producer now based in the United States, has made a significant mark on the U.S. film industry with the release of her latest movie, “Sight.” The 100-minute film, which opened on more than 2,000 screens across the country, has already grossed over $7 million USD in American theatres.

“Sight” features Oscar nominee Greg Kinnear, known for his role in “Little Miss Sunshine,” and Terry Chen of “House of Cards” fame. The film, released on Memorial Day weekend, has captivated audiences with its poignant and visually stunning storytelling.

Rachel Tan, a former Miss Malaysia and the first Malaysian to win an international pageant with her victory in TVB’s prestigious Miss Chinese International competition, co-founded Kingstreet Pictures with her husband Dan Mark in 2016. Currently in post-production, the film was partially shot in Kuala Lumpur to highlight Malaysia’s beauty. The movie stars Lana Condor of Netflix’s “To All the Boys” franchise, Andrew Koji from “Bullet Train” and “Warrior,” and Ross Butler of the “Shazam” franchise. Directed by Golden Horse Award-winning director Tom Lin in his U.S. debut, “Worth The Wait” promises to be another captivating addition to Kingstreet Pictures’ portfolio.
