The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) is spearheading efforts to elevate Malaysian technology on the international stage, marking the return of the DEX Connex Thailand 2024 programme.
Held alongside the prestigious Techsauce Global Summit 2024, this initiative underscores MDEC’s commitment to supporting Malaysian tech companies in expanding their global presence and fostering bilateral collaborations that drive innovation and economic growth.
Strategic partnerships through MDEC DEX Connex
MDEC’s DEX Connex Thailand 2024 programme has brought together 51 Malaysian tech companies, showcasing the collective efforts to build strong international ties.
A key highlight of the event was the exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Memorandums of Agreement (MoAs) between Malaysian and Thai companies, paving the way for joint ventures, technology transfers, and enhanced market access.
“These partnerships are crucial for driving innovation and enhancing competitiveness in the digital economy,” said an MDEC spokesperson.
The MoUs and MoAs aim to create new growth opportunities by leveraging each country’s strengths and expertise.
Key collaborations include:
- CapBay (Malaysia) and Sleek EV (Thailand): Promoting sustainable mobility solutions through dealer financing.
- CapBay (Malaysia) and AccRevo (Thailand): Providing integrated financial solutions for SMEs.
- Tala Records (Malaysia) and The Nimit Studio (Thailand): Focusing on ASEAN cultural content creation.
- Intelligence Traceability (Malaysia) and S.M.S Solutions (Thailand): Enhancing traceability in the food and pharmaceuticals industries.
- EasyStore Commerce (Malaysia) and Lalamove (Thailand): Improving delivery efficiency for SMEs.
Expanding Malaysian tech influence
MDEC’s efforts have resulted in more than RM200 million in engagements, underscoring the programme’s role in promoting Malaysian technology and innovation on the global stage.
Reflecting on the achievements from previous DEX Connex initiatives in Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia, over 100 companies have participated, generating more than RM400 million in potential opportunities.
This year’s DEX Connex edition further strengthens executive cooperation and innovative collaborations following the previous MoU signing between MDEC and Thailand’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA).
Notably, RICOH Thailand, which signed a MoA in last year’s programme, is set to launch DocKITA® services in the Thai market this August, with Ashisuto Global Technologies Sdn. Bhd. facilitating through RICOH’s digital marketing channels.
MDEC’s DEX Connex Thailand 2024 is a collaborative effort with key partners, including the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Thailand, DEPA Thailand, True Digital Park, and the Malaysia-Thai Chamber of Commerce (MTCC).
MDEC’s DEX Connex Thailand 2024 underscores the vital role of strategic international partnerships in driving Malaysia’s digital economy forward.
As these collaborations continue to flourish, Malaysian tech companies are poised to make significant inroads in global markets, demonstrating the innovation and competitive edge of Malaysia’s digital landscape.
