As one of the most celebrated cinematic events in the region, the 61st edition promises to deliver a captivating showcase of talent and creativity from across Asia Pacific.

Organised by the Malaysian Film Producers Association (PFM) alongside Lomo Pictures Sdn Bhd, NCT Group, and the Asia Pacific International Arts Festival, the Asia-Pacific Film Festival (APFF) has been an annual fixture since its founding in 1953.

Held in various cities across 25 countries, it remains one of the region’s oldest and most prestigious film festivals.

Malaysian horror film Indera to open the festival

The Malaysian horror film Indera, starring local talents Shaheizy Sam, Azira Shafinaz, and Samara Kenzo, has been selected as the festival’s opening film.

This much-anticipated screening will set the tone for the three-day event, which will culminate in the APFF61 Awards Ceremony, honouring the best in Asia-Pacific cinema.

The awards will recognise outstanding achievements in filmmaking, from exceptional performances to technical brilliance, celebrating the diverse stories and talent that define the Asia-Pacific film industry.
