TANYU unveils Modern Chinese Concept store at Sunway Pyramid

Fans of Chinese grilled fish now have a new destination to savour TANYU’s renowned flavours with the opening of its latest outlet at Sunway Pyramid. Known for its signature dish, Grilled Fish with Fresh Green Pepper (鲜青椒烤鱼), TANYU first made waves in Shenzhen, China, and has expanded to over 300 locations across the Asia-Pacific region.

The new Sunway Pyramid outlet, following successful launches at Pavilion KL and 1 Utama, debuts the brand’s first “Modern Chinese Concept” store in Malaysia, merging traditional and contemporary design elements to create an immersive dining experience.

A Modern Chinese aesthetic

Stepping into TANYU’s new space, diners are greeted by a thoughtfully curated interior that reflects rich Chinese heritage. Décor elements like heritage fish lanterns (中国非遗鱼灯) symbolize prosperity, while the Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate (鲤鱼跃龙门) motif embodies ambition and success. Unique features, such as traditional Chinese plaque signs, coloured glaze flower windows, and Teochew oil paper lanterns, offer a visual journey through cultural aesthetics.

Nostalgic touches, including antique radios, bottles, and old televisions, lend a vintage charm to the chic 1,873-square-foot space that seats up to 94 guests across a range of table options. Additionally, guests can enjoy unlimited access to the ice jelly bar for RM5.90 per person, adding a refreshing element to the experience.

Exclusive “Red Fiesta Menu” at Sunway Pyramid

To mark its Sunway Pyramid debut, TANYU introduces the exclusive “Red Fiesta Menu,” showcasing a range of flavourful red-themed dishes. Highlights include the Grilled Fish with Fresh Tomato (酸甜番茄烤鱼), a tangy tomato-broth version of their classic grilled fish, and the Lychee Shrimp Ball (荔枝虾球), which combines a crispy exterior with succulent shrimp filling.

Other unique offerings include Cherry Tomato with Sour Plum (酸梅小番茄), Dry Pot Organic Cauliflower (干锅有机花菜), and the Jumbo Rosé Drink (嚣张玫瑰桶), rounding off the menu with flavours designed to surprise and delight.

Opening promotions and celebratory events

TANYU’s Sunway Pyramid location kicks off its opening festivities with a soft launch on 10 November 2024, offering exclusive 12% discounts to TANYU members. The grand opening, from 23 to 29 November, includes significant discounts—50% off all dishes on the first two days, followed by a gradual reduction to 30% by the week’s end.

Guests can participate in a “Flip & Win” campaign for a chance to win free dishes and enjoy live performances, including a lion dance, face-changing acts, and mascot appearances. Special perks await diners who check in on social media or spend a minimum of RM288, adding extra allure to TANYU’s latest venture in Malaysia.

The TANYU Modern Chinese Concept Store at Sunway Pyramid will operate daily from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, located on Lower Ground 2, Oasis Zone, Bandar Sunway. With plans to expand further in Southeast Asia, TANYU continues to set a high standard for quality grilled fish dining experiences.
