Following last weekend’s successful celebration of the Penang International Food Festival (PIFF) in George Town, the festival heads to Batu Kawan, showcasing the rich culinary culture of Penang.

The upcoming event, set for November 9 and 10 at Design Village Outlet Mall, invites visitors to explore Penang’s diverse flavours through unique dishes and local culinary traditions.

PIFF @ Batu Kawan promises over 100 food stalls featuring everything from beloved hawker fare to inventive offerings from popular restaurants and cafés.

Highlights include a “Pop-Up Café Corner,” where guests can sample speciality drinks and pastries, and a “Barbeque Corner,” providing fresh-off-the-grill treats for meat lovers.

The event runs from 5 pm to 11 pm on both days, giving visitors ample time to explore the stalls and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.

Festival-goers can also look forward to live entertainment, including music performances and captivating fire shows.

To mark the festival’s first night, a spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky on November 9, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Organised by TLM Event in collaboration with Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai (MBSP) and sponsored by PE Land, PIFF @ Batu Kawan is part of Penang’s larger “Jom! Experience Penang” campaign.

Supported by Penang Global Tourism and aligned with the state’s Vision 2030, this festival seeks to position Penang as a culinary destination, encouraging both locals and international visitors to experience its vibrant flavours and culinary heritage.

PIFF’s recent George Town event drew thousands, who braved a brief rain shower to sample dishes from nearly 100 stalls across Beach Street and nearby areas.

Malaysian celebrity chef Chef Zam also shared tips, while cultural performances, including a lion dance, added to the lively atmosphere.

Beyond its culinary attractions, PIFF @ Batu Kawan aims to promote Seberang Perai’s tourism offerings.

Guests can explore Northern Malaysia’s largest outlet mall, Design Village, and enjoy nearby sites such as Aspen Vision City’s container art installations and the newly opened Decathlon store.

This weekend, experience the best of Penang’s culinary heritage, from spicy laksa and char kuey teow to traditional Nyonya kuih. PIFF @ Batu Kawan promises a delicious and entertaining weekend for all ages.
