“Technology is no longer optional—it’s the key to growth,” said MDEC CEO Anuar Fariz Fadzil during the programme’s launch in George Town.

The focus is on co-developing actionable solutions to foster a supportive ecosystem for SMEs. Discussions cover best practices, industry insights, and strategies to accelerate digital adoption and innovation.

“This programme reflects our commitment to building a thriving digital economy that benefits all Malaysians,” Anuar said.

To date, RM30.96 million has been disbursed to Malaysia Digital (MD) grant recipients in Penang, with 173 companies achieving MD status.

These grants, coupled with tax incentives and funding opportunities, provide SMEs with vital resources to grow in the digital economy.
