The Faculty of Art, Sustainability and Creative Industry (FSKIK) at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) recently organised the KITA Programme, aimed at تعزيز togetherness and inclusivity among its academic community.
Held at the sheltered area of the auditorium at the Sultan Abdul Jalil Shah Campus, the initiative — which stands for Togetherness, Bonding, Tolerance and Aspiration — brought together students, lecturers and faculty members in a series of informal and community-focused activities.

FSKIK Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr Mohd Fauzi Harun, said such programmes play a crucial role in fostering a stronger sense of belonging within the faculty.
“Programmes such as this not only strengthen ties among members of FSKIK, but also ignite the spirit of teamwork and harmony within the faculty community,” he said.
He noted that the initiative was designed to encourage a more open and inclusive environment, in line with the values embedded in the KITA concept.
Promoting inclusivity through shared activities
A variety of activities were conducted throughout the programme, including communal cooking sessions, meetings with academic advisors and a potluck gathering, all aimed at nurturing interaction in a relaxed setting.

According to Dr Mohd Fauzi, these engagements provide students with opportunities to connect more closely with lecturers and advisors outside formal academic settings.
“This programme serves as a platform for students to interact more closely with lecturers and academic advisors in an informal setting, thereby strengthening academic support as well as student welfare,” he said.
The programme also aligns with UPSI’s broader aspiration of cultivating a “Family Spirit” culture on campus, emphasising mutual respect and support among its community members.
Organised through a collaboration involving four student associations — the Media Integration Association (PIM), Visual Arts Association (PERSENI), Design and Heritage Club (KEREBEWA), and Rakan ArtTrade — the initiative reflects a collective effort to strengthen relationships within FSKIK.
“Overall, this programme successfully achieved its objectives by contributing to the development of a more united, balanced and highly aspirational student community in line with UPSI’s Family Spirit culture,” he added.
