Kampung Melayu Subang floods hit about 92 houses on Monday evening after heavy rain. Water reached waist level in several lanes, and three people were moved to a relief centre.
The nearby Sungai Damansara rose past its danger level. The flooding came as flash floods hit wider parts of the Klang Valley. It also follows other floods in the area, including one in Lembah Subang that led MBPJ to order drain cleaning.
Here is what happened, how the village has flooded before and what residents and officials say.
What happened on Monday

First, the timing. Water was already high between 3pm and 4pm, a driver posted on Threads. She said it had reached her car engine.
Next, the call. Bomba received an emergency call at 5.18pm. A team from Bukit Jelutong arrived about 15 minutes later, the department said.
Then, the damage. About 92 houses were hit across four roads. Jalan Jati had 50, Lorong Merbau 30, Jalan Cengal seven and Jalan Resak five.
Also, the move out. Three people, including a disabled elderly man and a baby, were moved to a relief centre at Dewan Siantan.
However, some residents refused to leave when firefighters told them to go.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said rescuers checked that nobody was trapped. He said the water was reportedly going down.
River levels and flood history

First, the river. The state drainage portal showed the Kampung Melayu Subang station at 18.88 metres at 5pm. That is 1.48 metres above the 17.4-metre danger level.
Next, the comparison. Kota Damansara assemblyman Muhammad Izuan Ahmad Kasim said this was worse than a flash flood about three weeks earlier. So the village has flooded twice in a short span.
This is not the first flood. A flash flood hit on 16 April 2024 after an hour of heavy rain, when nearby rivers overflowed.
Then, on 3 October 2024, about 70 houses were hit and the water reached up to one metre. Officials blamed heavy rain and “poor irrigation” affecting houses in lower areas.
Also, on 16 February this year, the water rose to about 0.5 metre, the fire department said. Nobody was moved that time.
Overall, the reports show repeated floods linked to river overflow and drainage.
What residents say and what comes next

Residents described a fast rise on Threads. One said the water in the lane reached chest level and “everything is submerged”.
Also, a resident near the market said the water inside the house reached calf level, with waist-level water outside.
A snake also entered the home, the resident said, and village volunteer firefighters used a backhoe to remove it.
Another post said the village flooded again and it was worse than the earlier flood. A separate post said a nearby road rarely floods this way. An elderly man’s car was almost submerged within 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, two relief centres opened, at Dewan Siantan and Dewan Resak Subang Perdana. Early information put two families in each.
Izuan said he visited the affected homes after the flood.
For now, residents can follow river levels on the state’s Public InfoBanjir portal.
We will update this story as official figures and any relief details come in.
In short, the Kampung Melayu Subang floods are the latest in a run of floods since at least 2024.
