The United States embassy here will be closed on Monday in honour of the birthday of Dr Martin Luther King Jr, a prominent leader of the civil rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s.

The United States embassy here will be closed on Monday in honour of the birthday of Dr Martin Luther King Jr, a prominent leader of the civil rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s.

Dr King, known for his “I Have A Dream” speech, received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 and was assassinated in April 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee.

All embassy services, including visa and American passport and notary services will resume operation on Tuesday.
