Prime Minister Najib Razak will attend the 1Malaysia Warriors Night organised by the Silat Lincah Organisation of Malaysia (PSSLM) on Jan 24 at Anjung Times Square, Jalan Dato’ Keramat.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Koh Tsu Koon said the prime minister himself chose this date as he would not be able to attend the function tomorrow as scheduled earlier.
“The prime minister has an important programme tomorrow in Perak where he will meet all the Barisan Nasional elected representatives from Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis.”
“The new date chosen was with the agreement of the PSSLM mahaguru or grandmaster (Tan Sri Omardin Mauju),” he said at a press conference.
Koh said the event would reflect the 1Malaysia spirit as it would be attended by people from all walks of life and races, who are members of the martial arts associations in Penang.
Meanwhile, Omardin said some 30,000 members of 40 associations would be showing off their art of self-defence like silat, silambam, taekwondo and karate.
“The ‘Malam Pendekar 1Malaysia’ will be unity arena for all these different groups taking part,” he said.
