If the mother failed to be located, Akmal will be placed at the children home in Kepala Batas, Penang or JKM will find him an adopted family.

Zulkiply said Akmal was referred to police on Dec 29 last year and treated at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Alor Setar before allowed to leave yesterday.

The boy who is active and healthy had some cuts and bruises in the hands and eyes believed, inflicted by her adopted mother.

Akmal is under the care of his former nanny who looked after him from 45 days to four years before handed over to the adopted family.

The mother or individuals who know Akmal can contact the Kota Setar JKM child guardian at 04-7202370/7202351 (Mohd Basharudin Samsudin).
