Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is expected to launch the Agriculture Graduate Entrepreneurs Club (MyAgrosis) in conjunction with the Assembly of 10,000 Youths and Graduates at Universiti Teknologi Mara’s (UiTM) Merbok campus, Sungai Petani, on December 17.
Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority (Fama) chairman Datuk Badaruddin Amiruldin said the programme aimed to attract and produce more graduates in the production and marketing of agro-based products.
At the event the Prime Minister will also witness the signing of an agreement between the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry and Higher Education Ministry which will facilitate Fama’s target for each university to have 1,000 students joining the MyAgrosis Club by the end of 2012.
Badaruddin said various products will also be displayed during the programme including pineapple, corn, catfish, organic chicken, ice cream, cakes and pastries.
He said Fama hoped to attract over 50,000 visitors to the programme, to be held from Dec 16 to 18.
In the evening, the Prime Minister is scheduled to launch the 1Malaysia People’s Shop (KR1M) and the Agrobazar Kedai Rakyat in Kampung Ruat, Yan.
