The Negri Sembilan state government will set up the Negri Sembilan public
transport unit which will be responsible for coordinating the public
transport system in the state.
Menteri Besar Mohamad Hasan said an agreement between the state government
and the party that would handle public transport operations in the state
would be signed on Monday to enable operations to begin on Tuesday.
“Thus, the stage bus service in the state which had stopped operations on
Wednesday would be resumed on Tuesday. Besides continuing operations on the
existing routes, several new routes would be added especially in the
villages and housing estates to enable more commuters to enjoy the
service,” he said in Seremban today.
On Wednesday, the stage bus company, Cityliner, ceased operation of seven
of its subsidiaries providing stage bus services along 10 routes in Negri
Sembilan as it claimed the company suffered substantial losses.
Mohamad said the state government could not wait for the Land Public
Transport Commission (Spad) to assist in reviving the public transport
system because this could take time.
