The press conference for the 9th Johor Bahru Arts Festival was officially launched by Johor MP Shahrir Abdul Samad.
Patron and advisor of the arts festival Shahrir said that having an arts festival injects life and soul into a city like Johor Bahru. It is an important element in increasing its profile and establishing itself as a truly developed city.
The Festival had clearly grown over the years, with more local and overseas performers wanting to be associated with the annual festival.
Other international participations include a Japanese drum performance, a traditional Sri Lankan dance troupe, Canadian couple playing electronic music that straddles genres such as reggae, blues and world music.
