Rakyat will suffer with strata management bill amendment

The rationale behind the Housing and Local Government Ministry’s proposal to amendment to the Strata Management Bill of 2012 will create unnecessary burden for the rakyat to face illegal property managers in future.

Housing and local government minister, Chor Chee Hong recently said that the reason for the amendment is to tackle the issue of monopoly.

Meanwhile, Malaysian Institute of Professional Property Managers (MIPPM) president, Ishak Ismail, explained that property management is not a business but a profession hence, it should be regulated like all other professions.
