Apple unveils iPhone 4S, falls short of expectations

Apple unveiled its latest iPhone on Tuesday, to the disappointment of many, it wasn’t a redesigned iPhone 5 like many had hoped for, but a slightly updated version the existing iPhone 4.

Apple unveiled its latest iPhone on Tuesday, to the disappointment of many, it was not a redesigned iPhone 5 as many had hoped for, but a slightly updated version of the existing iPhone 4.

The new iPhone 4S houses a dual-core A5 chip which saw its debut in the iPad 2, promising improved performance and lower power consumption.

The new iPhone also has a 8-megapixel auto-focus camera with the ability to shoot 1080p HD videos at 30 FPS (frames per second).

Apple also boasts of a new feature called Siri, basically voice-command feature which allows the user to navigate and operate the phone just by voice.

The iPhone 4S supports iCloud and runs Apple’s iOS 5.

The iPhone 4S is expected to be available in the North American market with prices set at US$199, US$299, US$399 for the 16GB, 32Gb and 64GB models respectively.
